Access

Kea is the most western island of the Cyclades at a short distance from Athens and the Eleftherios Venizelos international airport (Athens International Airport).

It is located only one hour away from the port of Lavrio and there is regular ferry boat service to and from the island. Furthermore, in Kea there is a regular ferry connection with the islands of Syros, Tinos, Kythnos, and Mykonos.

Getting to KEA VILLAGE

From El. Venizelos airport to Lavrio port

The distance between the airport and the port of Lavrio is a 30 minute drive (app. 30km).You can reach Lavrio from the airport either by taxi, coach or by renting a car from the rental agencies located at the airport. For more information visit the following link: www.aia.gr

When you reach Lavrio port, you should purchase your ferry ticket to KEA at least half an hour before the ferry departure. To check the ferry service timetable please visit the departure/arrival table the OpenSeas website: www.openseas.gr. If you are bringing your own vehicle, you should arrive at the port at least one hour before departure time. Make the necessary arrangements regarding the tickets for both the car and the passengers as soon as possible.

From Lavrio port to Kea and Kea Village

Leaving the port of Lavrio you pass by the island of Makronissos and then the beautiful island of Kea appears before you. It is a pleasant journey that lasts about 60 minutes.

Once you arrive at the port of Kea, Korissia, if you don’t have your own means of transportation, you can get a TAXI from the Taxi station at the port, which will bring you to Kea Village. Alternatively, you can rent a car from the car rental companies that are located at the port.

Driving directions

Leaving Korissia, you will follow the road towards Ioulida (Chora) - a short 15 minute drive from the port. Once you arrive at Ioulida you will continue on the main road, bearing right.

At the first crossroad, you will make a left towards Ellinika- Kato Meria. After approximately 1.5km you will reach Kea Village parking lot, look for our sign “Kea Villlage”.

Useful Visitor Information

Kea's total surface area is 131 km². The number of inhabitants is 2.400. Ioulida-Chora is the capital of the island, at 5.5 km from the port of Korissia. It is one of the four ancient settlements of the island (Ioulida, Korissia, Pisses and Karthaia). On the island, there is also an archaeological museum, a health center, pharmacies, banks and a heliport. Below, you can find useful telephone numbers.
